Quick Q&A with

When you invite a crew into your home or building, you should know what to expect. This page answers the most common questions about how Clean Work Contracting works, who we serve, and how to get started. You can learn more about our services on our home page, see recent projects in our portfolio, or request a visit through our online estimate form.

What services does Clean Work Contracting offer?

We focus on interior renovations that make homes and units feel finished and cared for. Our core services are painting, flooring installation and repairs, trim and finish work, small carpentry, and light repairs. We are a good fit for full room refreshes, turnovers, punch lists, and “last 10 percent” details that need to be done neatly and on schedule. We can also consider larger remodels on a case by case basis, depending on the scope, timeline, and trades involved. You can see a fuller overview of our services on our home page.

Do you work with FHA loan buyers, apartment building owners, and short term rentals like Airbnb or VRBO?

Yes. We regularly help homeowners address repair lists before FHA or other inspections, and we work with small landlords, apartment building owners, and property managers on unit turns and common areas. We also service short term rentals like Airbnb and VRBO that need quick, tidy upgrades between guests. Our work is light residential, not major structural remodeling, which keeps projects efficient and predictable. To see examples of projects like these, visit our portfolio.

What areas do you service?

We are based in the Pittsburgh area and typically work in Fox Chapel, O’Hara Township, Aspinwall, Highland Park, Shadyside, Squirrel Hill, Point Breeze, Regent Square, Lawrenceville, Bloomfield, Hampton Township, Allison Park, Gibsonia, Wexford, Franklin Park, McCandless, Mt. Lebanon, Upper St. Clair, South Fayette, Peters Township, Scott Township, and other nearby neighborhoods. Share your address when you contact us and we will confirm if it is in our normal service range.

How does your pricing work? Do you do hard bids or time and materials?

We use both, depending on the project. For clearly defined work, like repainting a room or installing flooring in a measured space, we usually provide a fixed price quote so you know the total cost up front. For projects with more unknowns, we may recommend time and materials. In that case we give you our hourly rate, talk through a reasonable range, and keep you updated as we go. For a deeper overview, you can read our article Hard Bids vs. Time & Materials: How Your Home Project Is Priced in Pittsburgh.

Do you offer free estimates and how do I get one?

Are you insured, and what can I expect while you are working in my home or building?

Yes, we offer free estimates for most projects. You can reach out through our online estimate form or by phone. We will ask a few questions, schedule a visit or request photos, then send a written estimate that spells out scope, materials, and next steps. For complex, multi phase projects, we may suggest a paid planning visit that can be credited toward the work.

Yes, Clean Work Contracting is fully insured. On site you can expect clear communication, respectful crews, and a tidy workspace. We protect floors and furniture, keep tools and materials organized, and clean up at the end of each day. You will know who is coming, what they are working on, and when we expect to finish, so there are no surprises. You can learn more about our process on our home page and see past projects in our portfolio.
